We listen, act, and transform
I have over 20 years of experience as an educator and speech-language pathologist and have worked in many different settings: Early intervention, schools, and clinics, including the American Institute for Stuttering. I am a New York State-licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). I completed a BA in Psychology at Wesleyan University and an MA in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Maryland, College Park.
It's important to me that I create a fun and motivating learning environment when working with clients. I believe that mutual respect and collaboration are the foundations of any functional therapeutic relationship. True change occurs only when I have earned a client's trust. I am also a firm believer in the anti-ableist movement and create goals with my clients, not for my clients - goals that honor and leverage each individual's strengths and gifts.
I bring expertise an neurodivergence to my work: Autism, ADHD, stuttering, and dyslexia. I am an SLP and an executive function coach - currently a supervisor within the Organizational Tutors Network. I have experience as a special education teacher, developmental learning specialist, and speech-language pathologist. And most importantly, I am the mother of a 9-year-old son with ADHD and understand the challenges and blessings of raising a child with a beautifully unique brain.
